Job Description

Add expected salary to your profile for insights

/n

You're not the kind of HR person who hides behind a policy document and calls it advice.

/n

You actually want to help. You're the person employees feel comfortable coming to with the hard stuff - because they trust you'll give them a straight answer, not a brochure. You can sit with a manager who's struggling with a performance issue and help them think it through, then pivot to tighten up an onboarding process that's been bothering you for weeks, and then jump into a project that has nothing to do with either of those things.

/n

You understand that People & Culture isn't just warm fuzzy things (though you care about those too). It's about building the infrastructure that allows a business to grow without losing its people along the way. It's about getting the practical stuff right so the good stuff can happen.

/n

If that's you, keep reading.

/n

We've been keeping medical equipment running in hospitals, healthcare facilities and veterinary practices across Australia for decades. Behind every piece of equipment we service and supply is a team of people who genuinely care about getting it right - and right now, we're scaling quickly.

/n

Backed by private equity and fueled with big goals, we're at the kind of inflection point where the decisions we make about our people, culture and systems, really matter. The P&C; function is small, high-impact, and central to this next phase of growth.

/n

The work is tangible, and you'll see the impact of what you build.

/n

The Role

/n

This is a genuine HR generalist role - no lane-staying, no "that's not my area." You'll be the first point of contact for employees and managers at all levels across the business for a broad range of HR matters.

/n

Day to day, you'll be:

/n

The trusted go-to for employees and managers navigating HR queries, people issues, and the occasional tricky situation

/n

Supporting managers through performance, conduct and conflict with practical advice that balances people and commercial needs - not just reciting the technicalities of legislation and policy

/n

Running end-to-end recruitment across a diverse range of roles, partnering with hiring managers to bring genuinely great people on board, and then leading their onboarding to make them feel welcomed and set for success (not just processed)

/n

Contributing to L&D; initiatives, performance review cycles, reporting and compliance

/n

Getting hands

- on with P&C; projects
- HRIS implementation, policy development, process design
- the work that shapes how the function operates as we scale

/n

The Fair Work Act, NES, Contemporary Awards - you know them, you understand them, and you can explain things to a manager in plain English.

/n

You

/n

If you've grown with a business - built things from scratch, figured it out as you went, and come out the other side knowing how to make HR actually work at pace - that experience will set you apart here. This role needs:

/n

Real experience in a generalist HR role, ideally in a fast-paced, scaling or transformation environment

/n

Sound, practical knowledge of employment legislation - not just the textbook version

/n

Strong judgement: you know when to act, when to ask, and when to elevate

/n

The ability to build trust quickly - people feel safe bringing you the things they're not sure how to handle

/n

A strong preference for "how do we make this work?" over "no, we can't do that"

/n

Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related field are excellent to have, but not a dealbreaker.

/n

Your Manager

/n

You'll report to our Head of People & Culture - someone who leads with trust first, backs their team, and has a pretty firm stance against "that's just how it's done."

/n

Expect to be challenged to think differently, supported when it matters,

and trusted with real autonomy. In return, you'll be expected to bring transparency, commitment, and a willingness to push back when you believe in something.

/n

Reporting directly to an executive leader, you'll have genuine exposure to exec conversations, business decisions and strategic HRM practices. If you're someone who wants to see how people strategy shapes business direction (and vice versa), this is a great place for an experienced HR Coordinator/Officer to take their next career step and learn.

/n

We

/n

Our core values are Trust, Knowledge, Enjoyment, Excellence, Innovation and Partnership - and we actually mean them. You can expect a team that works hard, shares a laugh, and genuinely cares about each other's success.

/n

/n

- We celebrate our people through peer-nominated awards, offer Birthday Leave each year, an Employee Assistance Program for you and your family, and an extra week of leave after five years of service.

/n/n

This is a hybrid role based in our brand-new facility in Epping. You'll be in the office enough to build real relationships, but there's plenty of flexibility on offer to ensure you can bring your whole self to work.

/n

Mediquip is an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities we work in, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences.
