This is more than a commissioning role. You'll be involved in bringing complex power stations to life, working across diesel, gas, solar, battery storage and control systems.

/n

You will partner with engineering, construction, operations, OEMs and specialist contractors to safely commission new power stations and major plant upgrades.

/n

Commissioning Technician | Hybrid Power Generation | FIFO 2:2

/n

About the Role

/n

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you'll be responsible for commissioning, testing, and start‐up of Zenith's off‐grid hybrid power stations.

/n

Working on a permanent 2:2 FIFO roster, you will help ensure each facility is commissioned safely, operates as designed, and meets Zenith's engineering, operational, and quality requirements.

/n

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Commission control systems and associated power generation equipment.

/n

- Test, troubleshoot and fault‐find electrical and mechanical systems.

/n

- Commission diesel, gas, solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

/n

- Follow and complete Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Records (ITRs).

/n

- Work closely with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to ensure compliance with design standards.

/n

- Support OEM technicians and specialist sub‐contractors during equipment commissioning.

/n

- Support construction teams during project delivery.

/n





- Assist with developing operating procedures and training programs.

/n

- Provide technical support during project handover to Operations.

/n

- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and compliance throughout commissioning activities.

/n/n

About You

/n

You are a trade‐qualified Electrical Technician with experience commissioning power generation equipment and enjoy solving complex technical challenges.

/n

You'll bring

/n

/n

- A current WA Electrical Licence.

/n

- A minimum of two years' experience within the power generation industry.

/n

- Strong electrical fault‐finding and diagnostic skills.

/n

- Experience commissioning industrial control systems.

/n

- A current HV Switching qualification.

/n

- A current C Class Driver's Licence.

/n

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

/n

- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.

/n/n

Desirable Experience

/n

/n

- PLC programming or troubleshooting.

/n

- COMAP control systems.

/n

- Robust industrial networking and OT experience.

/n

- Current First Aid certificate.

/n

- A current EWP Licence.

/n

- Previous experience with hybrid power stations that include solar, wind and BESS technologies.

/n/n
