With a strong pipeline of work supporting new naval platforms and Defence maritime capability, they are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team in Darwin.

The Opportunity
/n
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electronic systems while supporting field operations and engineering activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring critical Defence capability remains operational, while also contributing to ongoing product and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities
/n
/n
- Conduct advanced fault finding and root cause analysis across mechanical and electronic systems.
/n
- Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on Defence maritime platforms and associated equipment.
/n
- Diagnose technical issues using a range of electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
/n
- Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to support complex troubleshooting activities.
/n
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
/n
- Support field operations, testing, commissioning and maintenance activities.
/n
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver reliable, mission‐ready capability.

About You
/n
To be successful in this role, you'll be a practical engineer who enjoys getting hands‐on and solving challenging technical problems.
/n
You'll ideally bring:
/n
/n
- Experience troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic systems.
/n
- Strong fault‐finding skills using electronic test equipment and diagnostic equipment.
/n
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
/n
- Experience improving the reliability and maintainability of operational equipment.
/n
- Hands‐on experience building, maintaining or repairing mechanical and electronic systems.
/n
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
/n/n
Experience within Defence, maritime, naval, aerospace, industrial automation, mining, heavy industry or other high‐reliability engineering environments will be highly regarded.
