About the role

This is a Leadership role that can develop into an Operations Manager / Multi Venue Manager for a candidate who wants to climb the hospitality ladder. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at Taki in Canberra, ACT.
This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations and success of our restaurant. As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene, and leading a dedicated team to deliver outstanding dining experiences.

This role is integral to achieving our business objectives and maintaining our reputation as a premier dining destination in Canberra.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee all restaurant operations, including service flow, table management, and customer satisfaction
- Lead, train, supervise and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house staff to maintain high performance standards
- Manage budgets, control costs, and maximise profitability whilst maintaining quality standards
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations and internal policies
- Maintain restaurant presentation, cleanliness, and maintenance standards across all areas
- Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, ensuring positive resolutions
- Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and peak service periods effectively
- Conduct staff recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management




- Monitor inventory, stock levels, and manage supplier relationships
- Liaise with kitchen management to ensure food quality and timely service delivery
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer experience and drive business growth

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar senior hospitality management role within a full-service restaurant environment
- Solid leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine commitment to creating exceptional dining experiences
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including point-of-sale systems, budgeting, and inventory management
- Understanding of health, safety, food hygiene and liquor licensing regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders
- Problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills under pressure
- Proven experience in staff recruitment, training and performance management
- Proficiency with restaurant management software and computer systems
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the role
- A passion for hospitality and commitment to continuous improvement
