Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead their Skids Division based at Ferryden Park, South Australia.

/n

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong background in workshop operations, team leadership, and project delivery to join a well-established organisation delivering high-quality engineered skid solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring workshop activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Lead and manage all workshop activities associated with skid assembly, modification, refurbishment, testing, and dispatch.

/n

- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and workshop resources to meet project schedules and customer requirements.

/n

- Ensure skid builds are completed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

/n

- Monitor workshop productivity, project progress, and operational performance.

/n

- Lead, mentor, and develop workshop personnel, including tradespeople, apprentices, and contractors.

/n

- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and industry standards.

/n

- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and performance discussions.

/n

- Manage workshop equipment, tools, inventory, and facilities.

/n

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control.

/n

- Interpret engineering drawings and complete mark‐ups where required.

/n

- Maintain effective communication with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

/n

- Oversee and support contractors working on‐site.

/n

- Investigate, communicate, and resolve quality non-conformances with relevant stakeholders.

/n

- Foster a positive learning environment and support the ongoing development of the workshop team.

About You

/n

/n

- Demonstrated experience managing workshop operations within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, electrical, or industrial environment.

/n

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams.

/n

- Excellent organisational and planning abilities with a focus on meeting project deadlines.

/n

- A sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.

/n

- The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

/n

- Strong communication, problem‐solving,



and decision‐making skills.

/n

- A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and driving continuous improvement.

/n

- Electrical testing experience.

/n

- Experience working on transformers, kiosks, modular buildings, substations, switchgear, or utility infrastructure projects.
