Role Overview:
Join our dynamic team as an IT Support Technician, responsible for the maintenance and improvement of IT systems functionality across our Melbourne, Perth, and Houston offices. You will be responsible for proficiently managing a range of data centre equipment and ensuring the seamless operation of IT services. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining uptime, health, and performance of all backend devices, consistently meeting stringent requirements. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proficient in managing diverse technologies: Apple, Windows, Linux, AWS, AZURE, VMware, Google Suite, Office 365, NAS-NetApp, LAN/WAN (routing, switching, Wi-Fi), Firewalls, Antivirus, UTM devices, Backup Servers (Symantec Backup Exec, Bacula or equivalent), System Centre SCCM, VOIP,
Mobile Device Management, Hosted Web Environment, Licencing Application server, and any newly integrated services.
- Provide escalated support for front-end/help desk IT, focusing on endpoint desktop devices (Apple, OSX Server, Windows, Linux clients).
- Assist in Maintaining IT and digital infrastructure, hardware, and software to agreed-upon, secure, and optimal levels, performing upgrades as necessary.
- Ensure data centre health across AMOG sites (Melbourne, Perth, Houston), including occasional travel to Perth AMOG Office.
- Evaluate and implement new hardware, software, or solutions as required.
- Document IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with vendor support for issue resolution.
- Monitor and resolve designated help-desk tickets.
- Monitor backup and disaster recovery readiness.
- Generate IT reports and track assets.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in any relevant IT stream
- A minimum of 1-4 years of experience and must possess strong communication and documentation skills, as well as an understanding of basic ITIL processes.
- AWS AZURE certification desired/added advantage
- ITIL certification desirable and/or willing to become certified – understanding of basics ITIL processes.
- High level verbal and written communication skills.
- Windows Server, ADS, Linux, OSX, LAN, WAN, VPN, VMWare, NFS, Samba, SAN/NAS.
Experience with NetApp.
- Basic PowerShell, MCSE, CCNA, VCP certificate an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix server side administration and computer network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with supporting desktop program installations, upgrades and configurations in a combined Mac and Windows (XP/7/8/10) desktop environment.
- Ability to effectively manage and complete multiple demanding tasks within allocated time frames.
- Ability and willingness to develop both technical and customer service skills on the job.
- Well developed skills in an Apple Mac environment, Windows Desktops, Client software management, Desktop Security, Antivirus, Patches, Linux Basics, IT devices trouble shooting, Asset and inventory management, Generic office productivity software, and Managing backup operation on tape based backup devices with Veritas Backup Exec and Bacula.
