The Hydraulic Fitter role is essential in supporting a sustainable business model while upholding our values and operational excellence.

About You
As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will be responsible for building and troubleshooting hydraulic componentry, conducting repairs, and performing preventive maintenance. This position involves varied responsibilities both in the workshop and in the field, supporting all levels of the workshop department and sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling hydraulic componentry by conversion of similar item or building them using parts and/or sub-assemblies, such as valves, pumps, power units, and actuators.
- Testing and troubleshooting new assemblies using workshop equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and accuracy of fit.
- Manufacturing hydraulic hoses, ensuring compatibility between hose fittings and hoses, and adhering to crimping specifications and standards.
- Troubleshooting hydraulic systems with a safe approach to high-pressure systems.
- Visiting sites to familiarise with jobs, identifying required tools and parts, and ensuring readiness for on-site jobs by keeping service vehicles equipped with tools, testing equipment, and consumables.
- Maintaining readiness to assist on-site jobs, ensuring the service vehicle is equipped with hand and power tools, testing equipment, and consumables.
- Actively contributing to the improvement of workshop and service department operations by supporting and proactively identifying better practices and process enhancements.
- Updating assembly information sheets as required and providing advice and guidance to internal and external sales teams.
- Ensuring all documentation relevant to each assembly is orderly and complete.
What You’ll Bring:
- Trade qualifications in maintenance or hydraulic fitting preferred, willingness to learn and a strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
- Experience in hydraulics/mechanical fitting.
- Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience in testing and repairing hydraulic cylinders is desirable.
- Skilled in using a variety of tools, with tool machining knowledge and experience being advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Holding a valid MR Truck license or Forklift license is preferred.
