ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C;) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.
The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build current high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.
The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.
The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Senior HR Advisor to share their expertise within our growing project Teams
- The position will be based at the Merotherie Main Office (local or 10/4 or 14/7 BIBO) supporting Transmission Lines.
- If the successful candidate is not local (therefore on roster), they will be entitled to the Project Uplift.
The Senior Human Resources Advisor (Staff) plays a critical role in supporting both the operational and strategic people functions for the Transmission Line Construction Team within the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture. The Senior Human Resources Advisor provides expert guidance across all facets of our staff personnel, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training coordination, and policy implementation.
This role ensures that Human Resource practices are aligned with project objectives, industry standards, and legislative requirements while supporting a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
The position also plays an important role in building workforce capability through coaching, training coordination, and supporting organisational development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Has a sound working knowledge of applicable legislation and apply good practice and principles to reduce ER risk.
- Supporting the adherence to project policies and legislative requirements.
- Responsible for upskilling People Manager capability with performance management.
- Conduct intermediate-level investigations including drafting comprehensive reports that adequately address the relevant issues and provide appropriate recommendations to management.
- Draft bespoke documentation (letters, contract clauses etc.) showing understanding of relevant issues clearly and concisely.
- Has a solid level understanding of workforce planning including the importance of identifying talent gaps and developing strategies to meet workforce requirements.
- Support and provide informed advice to managers to identify capabilities in the short and long term to deliver required project outcomes, and impacts on any proposed changes in roles and structure.
- Contribute to the creation of workforce planning strategy development activities.
- Implement and provide input into the performance, talent, reward and recognition frameworks to relevant stakeholder groups.
- Ensure the alignment of job roles, employee capabilities and salary bandings within the Human Resources team to meet the project needs and strategic objectives.
- Lead, support and advise the consistent application of cyclical processes with relevant stakeholders providing advice and direction.
- Conduct benchmarking activities to ensure robust and consistent application of salary bandings across all levels.
- Responsible for the day-to-day work and outcomes of more junior team members,
- Instil values, leadership and ethical behaviour in relation to people practices aligned with the project policies.
- Apply sound judgement and demonstrate courage when influencing decision-making,
- Embed equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives into the human resource practices, Design and implement innovative HR solutions and accountability frameworks to create organisational culture.
- Lead and support a collaborative,
innovative and values- based culture.
- Provide coaching to stakeholders in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Support managers throughout the performance review cycle, including goal-setting, feedback, and improvement plans.
- Assist in designing and implementing initiatives that drive employee engagement, retention and a positive work culture.
- Monitor workforce morale, identify emerging issues, and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain accurate HR data, employee records, and reporting dashboards in alignment with company
- Act as a key contributor to enabling the recruitment is delivered in accordance with the construction program. Support the hiring managers of the Transmission Line team by collaborating with key stakeholders including project Recruiters.
- Act as a senior member of the Project HR Team by prioritising a culture of collaboration and high-performance.
- Collaborate and support other members of the Project HR Team including the TL Senior Human Resources and Industrial Relations Advisor (Workforce) and wider Project HR Team resources.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree, or tertiary qualification in Business or Human Resources, or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in large project based or complex / fast paced business environment in a similar role consisting of white- & blue-collar workforce.
- Generalist experience in a medium-to-large sized business, with construction engineering experience highly desirable.
- General knowledge of relevant legislation, employment laws and current Human Resource best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing challenging stakeholders, juggling competing priorities and driving efficient and timely delivery of the workforce plan.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, solutions driven and customer focused mindset.
- Highly organised with exceptional time management and planning abilities, setting own priorities within time constraints, and managing conflicting demands.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various departments and foster teamwork.
- Demonstrated ability to influence & engage, negotiate, persuade and motivate others.
- Able to maintain the highly confidential nature of Human Resource work.
- Highly resilient, flexible, agile, service driven, can-do attitude is a must.
