Role Overview
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities across plant, power and site assets at the Nifty Copper Complex to support safe, reliable and efficient operations. The role ensures maintenance work is properly scoped, prioritised, planned and prepared so that execution teams can complete work safely and with minimal disruption to production.
The role supports both restart readiness and ongoing site operations by establishing disciplined maintenance planning processes, coordinating weekly and short-term plans, and ensuring labour, materials, tools and job information are in place ahead of execution.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning System
- Creating and developing maintenance systems for Nifty site
- Develop weekly and short-term maintenance plans for plant, power station and associated site assets
- Prepare detailed job plans and maintenance schedules to support safe and efficient work execution
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities in alignment with operational priorities and equipment requirements
- Maintain visibility of upcoming maintenance work and ensure plans are communicated clearly to relevant teams
Work Preparation and Execution Readiness
- Prepare maintenance work packs, job instructions and supporting documentation
- Ensure labour, parts, tools, permits and other prerequisites are identified and available ahead of scheduled work
- Work closely with supervisors, trades and operational personnel to confirm maintenance readiness
- Support effective planning for shutdowns, major maintenance events and restart-related works
Backlog and CMMS Manager
- Maintain maintenance backlog, work order quality and planning discipline within the site maintenance system once built
- Review, prioritise and update work orders to ensure accurate planning and scheduling information
- Ensure maintenance history, job status and planning data are current and well controlled
- Support strong CMMS data quality and maintenance reporting discipline
Coordination with Operations and Technical Teams
- Work closely with processing, mining, electrical and site leadership teams to align maintenance activities with operational requirements
- Support integrated site planning processes and help minimise disruption to production
- Coordinate with technical personnel to improve maintenance job quality, planning assumptions and execution outcomes
- Contribute to practical solutions for equipment reliability and maintenance planning issues
Shutdown, Reliability and Continuous Improvement
- Support planning for plant shutdowns and major maintenance campaigns
- Identify opportunities to improve planning efficiency, work pack quality, scheduling discipline and maintenance execution outcomes
- Contribute to initiatives that improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime and strengthen maintenance effectiveness
- Support the development of practical maintenance planning processes as the operation moves from restart into stable production

Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualification or relevant maintenance planning experience in mining, processing or heavy industry
- Demonstrated experience in establishing maintenance planning systems within a site-based operational environment
- Experience planning maintenance for fixed plant, power generation, processing or similar heavy industrial assets
- Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems to manage work orders, planning and maintenance history
- Strong understanding of maintenance workflows, shutdown planning and execution readiness
- Experience working closely with supervisors, trades and operational teams in a high-risk environment
