- Initial contract for 6 months with a possibility of extension
- Attractive hourly pay rate of $64.94 - $73.76/Hour + Super
- Working 38 hours per week
- Hybrid - WFH and one day in the Canberra Office

Purpose of the role:
Lead the planning, development, and delivery of clear, accessible, and user-focused digital content and communication materials for the ACT Government. Ensure content is accurate, compliant with ACT Government and Australian Government style and accessibility standards and presented in plain language to make complex information easy to understand. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to enhance user experience and support effective public communication.

Key Accountabilities:

- Write, structure and format website content using research, data, user insights, the
- ACT Government Design System, WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, and best practice content design principles.
- Translate legislation, policies and technical concepts into plain language content, guidance materials, and educational resources that support user understanding.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop, improve and maintain accurate content, ensuring information meets user needs.
- Develop and enhance communication products that improve clarity, accessibility and taxpayer understanding of rights and obligations.
- Assist the team with coordinating, implementing and evaluating communication and engagement initiatives as required.
- Other duties as required.

Essential requirements:

- Strong written communication and editing skills,



with the ability to translate complex technical, legislative or business information into clear, concise and plain language content for diverse audiences.
- Experience writing and designing content for government or other highly regulated environments, with an understanding of public sector communication requirements and accessibility obligations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated skills in contemporary content design practices to develop user-centred website content, including applying user insights to support continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience writing, editing and maintaining high quality, user focused website content, including the application of the Australian Government Style Manual and digital content best practice.
- Robust understanding of digital content principles, including WCAG2.1 accessibility standards, plain language, SEO, analytics and writing/editing for the web. Experience using HTML and content management systems (CMS) would be highly regarded.
