Help keep the lights on for remote WA communities
Join Horizon Power as a Power Systems Officer in our Remote Communities division and play a key role in supporting power systems that service 117 remote communities across Western Australia. This is a hands-on, practical role where you’ll help deliver customer-funded jobs and distribution work packages from concept through to handover, ensuring work is packaged safely, accurately and to the right standards.
This role suits someone with distribution design or utility experience who enjoys variety, can work autonomously and is comfortable operating in an evolving environment where the answer is not always straightforward. You’ll work closely with customers, contractors, suppliers, finance, operations and asset management teams to support safe, reliable and sustainable outcomes for remote communities.
At Horizon Power, we’re more than an energy provider. We’re shaping the future of power for regional and remote communities across WA. You’ll be part of a team focused on keeping communities connected, supporting generation, distribution, network asset management, works delivery and both short and long-term planning.
Your role in action:
• Manage customer funded works from quote through to handover, including customer liaison, finance coordination and quality assurance.
• Prepare distribution work packages that meet safety, standards, budget and delivery requirements.
• Maintain asset data, update drawings and ensure systems are accurate and aligned to requirements.
• Work with contractors, suppliers, Regional Service Providers and internal teams to support secure and timely delivery.
• Travel across regional WA as required to support project delivery and operational outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
• Distribution network design experience, ideally within a utility or power industry environment.
• Experience preparing technical work packages, scopes and cost estimates for network projects.
• An Advanced Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or an electrical trade qualification.
• A practical, action oriented approach, with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems in an evolving environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Ready to Power WA’s Future?
Apply now and bring your technical, design and delivery experience to a team that values safety, collaboration and getting things done.
