Animal Attendant (Boarding/Daycare)

We're now looking for 2 x energetic, reliable Casual Animal Attendants to join our Pet Hotel & Doggy Daycare team at Hanrob Canberra (Symonston, ACT). You'll be trained across both our daycare and boarding operations. These roles have come about due to a shift in study timetables this semester, and we're covering approximately 15 hours per week each, primarily across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — with flexibility to pick up additional shifts (including weekends) highly valued, as total hours across the team can range from 10–25 hours per week depending on demand.

Successful applicants must be available to start shifts as early as 7am and be open to weekend and school holiday work where possible.

What you'll be doing:

- Caring for boarding and daycare pets – feeding, grooming, enrichment
- Frequent cleaning and upkeep of facility to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety
- Health checks and general animal husbandry
- Supervising dogs and managing their behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety
- Providing exercise and enrichment to pets
- Providing friendly service to pet owners
- Creating and distributing media content for our pet owners through videos and photos
- Ensuring accurate record keeping and entering information in our booking systems
- Supporting your team to ensure the best outcomes for our furry guests

What we're looking for:





- Previous experience working or volunteering with animals is preferred
- Availability across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is essential; additional availability (including weekends and school holiday periods) is highly regarded
- Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors with pets of all sizes
- Confident communicators with a friendly, professional approach to customer service
- Reliable, positive team players who enjoy fast-paced, hands-on work
- Ability to work independently and willing to ask for guidance when needed
- Be committed to working safely and following instructions, policies and procedures at all times
- No licence required
- Available to attend a lawful unpaid work trial shift (operated within The Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines)

Please note: This is a physically active role that requires the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and handle animals (up to 50kg). You must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, and comfortably interact with pets, team members, and customers.
