Financial Accountant | Retail | Sydney

Our client is a well known Australian retailer with operations across ANZ and a logistics division. They're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team, taking ownership of month end close, statutory reporting and a broad mix of technical accounting work.

This is a genuinely hands on role. You'll be preparing journals, managing provisions and accruals, working through AASB16 lease accounting, and getting involved in balance sheet reconciliations and audit documentation. You'll also have exposure to board reporting, budgeting and cashflow forecasting, so there's plenty of variety and visibility with senior stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:
Month end close, including journals and provision calculations
AASB16 lease accounting adjustments
Balance sheet reconciliations and statutory audit support




GST lodgements and annual FBT return
Annual statutory financial reports
Weekly cashflow forecasting
Supporting the annual budget process

What they're looking for:
CA or CPA qualified
Big 4 audit background preferred but not essential
Solid month end close experience
Strong Excel skills, D365 experience an advantage
Good working knowledge of corporate tax (FBT, GST, income tax)

A team player who's comfortable liaising across the business and with auditors
