The Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (RLHB) is a regional health service committed to empowering Aboriginal people across West Arnhem. We deliver culturally safe, community-controlled healthcare to improve long-term health outcomes for children, families, and communities.
About the Communities
Red Lily Health Service delivers primary healthcare across four unique West Arnhem communities. Our service footprint includes Gunbalanya (Oenpelli) on the edge of Arnhem Land, Jabiru in the heart of Kakadu National Park, Minjilang on beautiful Croker Island, and Warruwi on South Goulburn Island. Together, these communities are home to strong Aboriginal cultures, diverse languages, breathtaking landscapes, and deep connections to Country, offering a truly rewarding remote health experience.
What you'll do:
- Process accurate end-to-end fortnightly payroll for employees across multiple business units
- Manage payroll activities including new starters, timesheets, leave, adjustments, terminations, and final pays
- Ensure compliance with awards, employment contracts, payroll legislation, superannuation, taxation, and STP requirements
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, journals, accruals, and workforce reporting
- Respond to payroll enquiries with professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, payroll systems, and reporting processes
- Work closely with Finance, People & Culture, and managers to maintain payroll integrity and governance
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in an end-to-end Payroll Officer role
- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, awards, and compliance requirements
- Experience processing payroll within a health, community services, not-for-profit, or multi-site workplace
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Current NT Driver Licence or the ability to obtain one
Desirable:
- Experience using Employment Hero or similar payroll and workforce management systems
- Experience supporting payroll for approximately 100 employees or more
- Understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHO) or Aboriginal community organisations
- Knowledge of culturally safe workplace practices and continuous improvement principles

All employment with Red Lily Health Board is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain an NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
