About Isaac

Isaac is a 28-year-old man living in River Heads. He is a volunteer, swimmer, live music fan, outdoor man, traveler and much loved family member and friend.

Isaac, his family and team are building on his team of supports and are looking for people who value inclusion and belonging. That means supporting Isaac to find and hang out in typical spaces with typical people, doing typical things in typical ways. Day programs and group homes are not his jam.

Isaac communicates without speech using alternative communication. He does best with people who are patient, observant, respectful, and genuinely interested in understanding how he communicates, chooses, and connects.

About the Role

We are looking for people who are curious, observant, and willing to learn. Supporting Isaac means paying attention to what he is communicating, noticing what is working and what isn't, helping him build a meaningful life, and contributing ideas that improve his support. You will receive training, mentoring, and ongoing guidance, but we expect team members to think, reflect, and actively engage in helping Isaac achieve his goals.

In this role, you will be required to:

- Support Isaac to live a full and meaningful life through valued roles, relationships, community participation, and personal growth

- Provide personal care and day-to-day support that promotes Isaac's health, wellbeing, dignity, and independence

- Listen to Isaac, support his communication, and pay attention to what is key to him

- Help Isaac learn new skills, pursue his interests, and participate in activities he enjoys

- Work collaboratively with a supportive team to plan, problem-solve, and continuously improve the quality of support provided

- Use online systems to record and share important information, helping the team learn and make informed decisions





- Develop your skills, confidence, and leadership through training, mentoring, and increasing responsibility

About You

As a small, close-knit team, we value collaboration, reliability and flexibility. We are looking for someone who is genuinely seeking a part-time role and has sufficient availability to assist with occasional leave and roster coverage.

The role is NOT suitable for someone who is looking to maximise hours across multiple jobs because we need you focussed on Isaac and your fellow team members.

Hours & Availability

Between 24 and 38 hours per week of regular consistent shifts plus ad hoc additional shifts to cover other staff when on leave.

You MUST be prepared to work a roster that is a mix of day shifts and inactive overnight shifts

Pay & Conditions

Starting from SCHADS Level 2.2, depending on qualifications and experience and progression over time.

Casual employment with opportunity to move to permanent over time

Superannuation and applicable allowances

Essential Requirements

- Some experience in disability or support work that's made you want to make this work your career

- A minimum of 2 years of disability or support work experience is required

- Skilled in team work, planning and communicating

- Cert III in Disability (or similar)

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module

- Both NDIS Worker Orientation Module and First Aid/CPR certification must be completed before starting

- First Aid & CPR

- Current Australian Driver's Licence

- Australian resident

- Comfortable using digital tools for notes and communication

- Willingness to learn and take feedback
