Join AHCWA's Workforce Development and Training team and play a key role in strengthening the capability, collaboration and sustainability of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and First Nations Owned (FNO) Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across Western Australia.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Workforce Development and Training, you will lead the establishment and ongoing operation of the WA ACCO and FNO RTO Community of Practice. The role supports workforce development, sector capability and collaboration across the Aboriginal training sector, while contributing to strategic objectives, funding outcomes and Closing the Gap priorities.

About the Role

As the RTO Community of Practice Coordinator, you will:

- Lead the establishment and ongoing coordination of the WA ACCO and FNO RTO Community of Practice.
- Build collaboration, peer learning and information sharing across Aboriginal and First Nations Owned RTOs.
- Develop and coordinate workforce development and sector capability initiatives aligned with sector priorities.
- Build strong relationships with RTOs, government agencies, training providers, industry partners and community representatives.
- Coordinate projects, grant deliverables, reporting and governance requirements, ensuring activities are delivered effectively and within agreed timeframes.
- Prepare reports, briefing papers, submissions and stakeholder updates to support informed decision-making.
- Lead and support a small team and contribute to continuous improvement across the Community of Practice.

About You

You are an organised, collaborative and proactive professional who can bring people together,



coordinate competing priorities and turn sector priorities into practical outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience coordinating projects, programs or stakeholder initiatives.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing papers and project documentation.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse groups.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience supervising or supporting employees.
- An understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, self-determination and culturally safe practice.
- The ability to uphold cultural safety and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Highly regarded:

- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community.
- Qualifications in project management, workforce development, education, training, community development or a related discipline.
- Experience working with Registered Training Organisations and/or knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
- Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or Aboriginal health organisations.
- Understanding of grant management, governance and evaluation processes.
