The team

The RegistryConnect program is focused on the stabilisation and targeted uplift of business registers including designing connections to the ABN and Director ID registers held by the ATO, and the more than 30 registers held by ASIC.

The role

The Product Owner, Customer Management, drives delivery of key RegistryConnect capabilities by managing the feature backlog, translating business and regulatory requirements into delivery-ready outcomes, and supporting teams to deliver seamless, customer-focused solutions.

Responsibilities will include:

- Translate policy, legislative, business and customer needs into prioritised, delivery-ready product outcomes, requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support the Product Manager to shape and deliver the Customer Management backlog from discovery through to go-live.
- Own and manage the feature backlog, ensuring alignment with RegistryConnect priorities, delivery milestones and policy intent.
- Lead feature discovery, analysis and design workshops to define customer-focused, regulatory-compliant solutions.
- Develop and maintain high-quality feature documentation, business rules and supporting artefacts.
- Collaborate with business, policy, legal, data, architecture, UX/UI and delivery teams to define and prioritise requirements.
- Ensure solutions align with One ASIC design principles and support secure, trusted and efficient registry services.
- Present recommendations,



feature intent and product decisions to senior stakeholders to support alignment and approval.
- Support business readiness, UAT and PVT activities, including issue resolution and acceptance sign-off.
- Manage product enhancements and technical changes to meet business and customer needs.
- Identify and communicate risks, dependencies and trade-offs, balancing customer experience, regulatory outcomes, operational impacts and technology constraints.

About you

Qualifications & Experience:

- Relevant qualifications and/or 6+ years' experience in product ownership, business analysis, service design, digital delivery or a related field.
- Proven Product Owner experience delivering outcomes in complex, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong ability to translate complex business, legislative, regulatory and operational requirements into clear product decisions, requirements and delivery artefacts.
- Experience managing and prioritising product backlogs from discovery through to delivery.
- Sound product judgement, balancing user needs, regulatory outcomes, operational feasibility, risk and technology constraints.
- Experience working with Agile delivery teams in government, regulatory or similarly complex environments.
- Experience in customer management systems, registry, compliance, government service delivery or other regulated product domains.
- Comfortable working in evolving delivery environments, helping shape practical ways of working and drive continuous improvement.
- Curious,



collaborative and solutions-focused, bringing a constructive approach to complex policy, service and delivery challenges.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across business and technology teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including leading workshops and presenting recommendations, risks and trade-offs to senior executives.
- Understanding of ASIC's regulatory environment, or the ability to quickly develop business and regulatory knowledge.
