A well-established private building certification consultancy is seeking a Level 1 Building Surveyor to join their Brisbane team, working exclusively on commercial projects. This role offers a combination of office-based work and work-from-home flexibility, and is suited to a surveyor who is either currently licensed or close to achieving Level 1 registration. You will be supported by experienced certifiers and exposed to a diverse range of commercial developments across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess commercial building applications in accordance with the NCC, QDC, and relevant legislation
- Review architectural, structural, and fire engineering documentation for compliance
- Support senior certifiers through the approval and certification process
- Liaise with builders, consultants, fire engineers, and councils on compliance matters
- Assist with inspections and certification workflows for commercial projects
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements
- Manage allocated assessments to meet statutory and project timeframes
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Level 1 Building Surveyor registration (QLD) or close to achieving registration
- Strong knowledge of the NCC (commercial volumes), QDC, and Queensland legislation
- Experience in commercial building certification or compliance (essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently with support from senior certifiers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and certification systems
