Belmont Pastoral Co is seeking a dedicated Piggery Attendant to join our team in Bell, QLD. This is a full time position offering the opportunity to work in a hands-on farming environment, contributing directly to the daily operations of our piggery facility. As a Piggery Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health, welfare and productivity of our pig herd, ensuring the highest standards of animal husbandry and farm management are consistently met.

What you'll be doing

Daily feeding and watering of pigs across all age groups and production stages

Monitoring pig health and welfare, identifying and reporting any signs of illness or injury to management

Cleaning and maintaining pigsty facilities, ensuring hygienic living conditions for the animals

Assisting with breeding programmes and record-keeping as directed

Supporting the movement and handling of pigs in a safe and humane manner

Maintaining farm equipment and facilities in good working order

Adhering to biosecurity protocols and farm safety procedures at all times

Assisting with general farm maintenance tasks as required

Contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the piggery operation

A 40 hour week including one rostered weekend per month.

What we're looking for

Prior experience not necessary as training will be provided.

Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

A genuine commitment to animal welfare and responsible farming practices





Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully

Reliability and punctuality with a willingness to work flexibly as required

Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Basic knowledge of farm safety and biosecurity practices, or willingness to learn

Problem-solving ability and initiative in addressing day-to-day operational challenges

Maintain facilities in a tidy and respectable state and clean up after oneself.
