You’ll be joining a close-knit, supportive multidisciplinary team of 15. While based in Ultimo, NSW, you’ll work closely with our Docklands head office on a day-to-day basis, giving you the autonomy of a local presence while benefiting from the support and resources of an established practice.

Diagnostic Structural Engineering

- Prepare high‑quality technical and diagnostic reports for insurers, builders, and other stakeholders
- Conduct site inspections to diagnose building damage or performance issues
- Assess causation and report to provide clear, practical rectification recommendations
- Liaise with subconsultants and clients
- Deliver structural design documentation for new builds, alterations, temporary structures, make safe propping, and remedial works
- Collaborate with drafting staff and external consultants (geotechnical, architectural, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and the NCC

Team & Project Contribution

- Provide guidance to junior engineers
- Participate in checking reports, QA and peer review
- Balance urgent reactive work with planned deliverables
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting, design systems and processes

You’ll thrive here if you have:

- Minimum 5 years’ solid experience in structural engineering within Australia
- Experience in diagnostic investigations, preparing compelling discussions and report writing
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards & NCC
- Proficiency in engineering and office software (AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam and various structural design packages)




- Confidence coordinating subconsultants and reviewing junior engineers’ work
- Enjoy documenting in report format as well as producing plans
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- A proactive, accountable, high‑energy working style
- A desire to grow your expertise and personal brand in the consulting space

This is a quick‑paced role balancing multiple concurrent reports and design packages, suited to engineers who thrive on variety and quick turnaround.

This is a NSW‑based role, working from our Ultimo office, with close day‑to‑day support and collaboration with our Docklands (VIC) team.

The role includes site visits and occasional work from home.

Full‑time, permanent role with occasional travel across Australia.

Mandatory: Full driver’s licence (company car provided for work use)
