About the role
As a Lifestyle Support Worker, you will work under minimal supervision and support people with a disability with daily living skills, and community inclusion and participation activities.
We are looking for people to work around the Logan and Coopers Plains area who have:
- Experience supporting people with challenging behaviours, Dysphagia, Dementia and/or Diabetes;
- Experience working in a SIL house;
- Availability to cover shifts from 7am - 9pm Monday to Saturday and Sleepovers;
- The commitment to assist people with a disability to learn current skills and experience a life of their choice;
- Confidenceto assist people with personal care;
- Confidence with manual handling in a support situation.
Key responsibilities include:
Depending on our client’s needs, and the supports we are providing, you may be required to perform some or all of the following tasks:
- Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light cleaning;
- Assisting in achievement of goals and building of capacity;
- Assisting with personal care needs such as showering, dressing, toileting, eating/drinking;
- Transportation to, and assistance with, outings such as shopping or social activities;
- Transportation to medical appointments;
- Implementing tasks and routines outlined by an approved medical professional;
- Maintaining and monitoring health and behaviour changes on an ongoing basis;
- Building rapport and collaborating effectively to establish positive relationships.
We will discuss specific client needs with you during interview to ensure the best match possible for both our client and yourself.
About you
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing or Community);
- A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification;
- An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle with comprehensive car insurance;
- Physical capacity to undertake the requirements of the role including manual handling tasks;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships;
- Passionate about making a positive impact in our community;
- Rights to work in Australia.

We offer
- Permanent part time or Casual contracts depending on your location and availability;
- Minimum hourly rate of $36.22($45.28 Casual) plus Super (SCHADS Level 2.1 or higher depending on qualification held);
- Travel allowance of $1.01 per kilometre;
- Salary packaging up to $15,900 per FBT year prorate;
- Meal entertainment and venue hire annual cap of $2,650 per annum prorate;
