Due to continuedbusiness growth, they are now seeking an experiencedMaterials Engineer tojoin their forensic engineering team. The role will be based in the NorthernSuburbs of Brisbane and will involve travelling to various locations acrossQueensland and Northern NSW.

The Position...

This position will provideyou with the unique opportunity to work on a range of engaging andchallenging projects, where literally no working day is the same. You’ll get towork with a diverse range of clients from different industries, helping todiagnose problems and providing solutions to the identified problem/s. If youhave a curious mind and like to solve problems, then this job is for you!

This role isnotalab-based role and requires regular regional and interstate travelto client or incident sites for inspection of possible failures of plant,equipment or machinery.



As part of the Inductionprocess, the successful candidate may be required to spend a minimum of 4 - 6weeks in Victoria to gain thorough understanding of the business standards andprocedures.

Reporting to the GeneralManager Engineering your responsibilities would include:

- Performingforensic engineering and failure investigations.

- Performingroot cause analysis.

- Conductingfire investigations (training provided)

- Conductingspecialist non-destructive testing (training provided).

- Engagingwith clients both prior to, during and post job completion.

- Providingexpert witness services.

- Consultingwith clients on materials related topics.

- Preparingand reviewing written reports for clients.

- Developinan ongoing working relationship with all relevant clients, organisationsand individuals.

- Conducton-site testing both locally and interstate as required.

The Ideal Candidate…

The ideal candidate willrequire the following:

- Have undergraduatequalifications in Materials Engineering or equivalent. (Mandatory)

- Minimum of 2-3 years’experience in root cause analysis and/or failure analysis. (Mandatory)





- Be able to travellocally and interstate to conduct inspections and on-site testing.

- Have a solidunderstanding of the principles and process of failure analysis anddemonstrated critical thinking.

- Be personable and havewell-developed communication skills (both oral and written).

- Have a practical,hands-on approach.

- Ability to adapttechnical knowledge to a variety of materials (known and unknown).

- Be willing to learnadditional skills

- Able to adapt to Companystandards and procedures

- Ability to work independently,but know when to collaborate with professional peers

- Demonstrated experienceproducing quality technical reports in a timely manner.

- Be proficient in the useof MS office software and cloud-based CRM applications.

- Be customer servicefocused – including being capable of answering clients' technicalquestions

- Self-motivated with a strongwork ethic

- Have a current driver’slicense.

- Must have Australianworking rights.
