Description
Work Health & Safety Advisor | Agricultural Operations
Hancock Agriculture is one of Australia’s largest and most progressive agricultural enterprises, operating some of the country’s most iconic cattle properties. Based from our Brisbane office, we are committed to excellence, innovation, and creating a workplace where safety is embedded into everything we do.
Based from our Brisbane office, Hancock Agriculture is seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to support our agricultural operations across Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Safety, you will play a key role in supporting WHS practices across Hancock Agriculture’s properties throughout Australia.
This is a hands-on and influential role requiring a practical approach to safety management, strong knowledge of WHS legislation, and the ability to influence positive safety behaviours across a range of operational environments.
The role requires regular travel to our properties across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical WHS advice and support to station managers, operational teams, and contractors.
- Partner with teams to identify risks, implement effective controls, and improve safety outcomes.
- Support incident investigations, learning reviews, corrective action management, and risk assessment activities.
- Coach and mentor frontline leaders to strengthen safety ownership within their teams.
- Contribute to WHS projects and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with our Safety Strategy.
- Support effective injury management and return-to-work processes.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of Hancock Agriculture’s safety culture and systems.
About You
- Demonstrated WHS experience supported by a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Previous experience within the agricultural industry, particularly beef production, cropping, or other rural operations, is highly regarded.
- Practical knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles.
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce, from station teams through to senior leadership.
- A pragmatic approach to safety, with the ability to influence positive behavioural and cultural change.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and travel regularly across agricultural operations.
- Passionate about safety as a value, not just a compliance requirement.
What We Offer
- The chance to make a meaningful impact within one of Australia’s leading agricultural businesses.
- A role with exposure to diverse operational environments and challenges.
- The opportunity to work closely with leadership and operational teams.
- Competitive remuneration and professional development opportunities.
- A supportive team culture built on integrity, innovation, and accountability.
If you are a WHS professional looking for a role where you can influence real change and make a difference across a large-scale agricultural operation, we would like to hear from you.
