Senior Project Officer
Contract | ASAP Start - 23 December 2026
Location: CBD | WF
Rate: $700-$900 per day + super
Are you an experienced Project Officer looking to contribute to high-profile infrastructure and energy projects? We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to join a dynamic government team, supporting the delivery of complex, large-scale programs that have a lasting impact across New South Wales.
The Opportunity
As the Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in coordinating project workstreams, supporting governance processes and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver project workstreams, ensuring milestones, budgets, risks and deliverables are effectively managed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
- Prepare high-quality project documentation including executive briefings, governance papers, reports, schedules and risk registers.
- Monitor project performance across scope, budget, schedule and risk, identifying issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Support procurement activities, contract administration and consultant management, ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual obligations.
- Contribute to project governance, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage project dependencies across multiple stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience delivering or supporting complex infrastructure, energy, utilities, transmission, renewable energy or government projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks and risk management principles.
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proven ability to prepare executive-quality reports, governance papers, business cases and presentations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using project management systems.
- Experience supporting projects through planning, procurement, delivery and operational readiness phases.
Essential Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in one of the following (or a related discipline):
- Engineering
- Project Management
- Construction Management
- Environmental Science
- Planning
- Business or Commerce
