Narrabeen Smash Repairs is seeking an experienced Spray Painter to join our dynamic team in North Narrabeen. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility in North Narrabeen NSW 2101. As a Spray Painter, you will play a crucial role in our operations, delivering high-quality paint finishes to vehicles that have been damaged or are undergoing restoration. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive repair industry and ensuring customer satisfaction with every job we complete.
What you'll be doing
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, cleaning and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint coatings using spray equipment, ensuring consistent colour matching and coverage across all vehicle panels
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or repainting as necessary to meet quality standards
- Mix paint and other coating materials according to manufacturer specifications and colour requirements
- Maintain and clean spray painting equipment, including guns, compressors and ventilation systems
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Collaborate with other members of the repair team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs
- Document work completed and maintain accurate records of paint used and time spent on each vehicle
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Spray Painter in the automotive repair or panel beating industry
- Strong knowledge of paint systems
- Proficiency in colour matching and the ability to achieve consistent,
high-quality finishes
- Competency in using spray painting equipment and understanding of spray technique and application methods
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to paint application and hazardous material handling
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering work that meets strict quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive painting (preferred)
- Valid driver's licence (preferred)
