The Opportunity

We're looking for an Estimator to play a key role in securing some of the city's most high-profile construction projects.

Working closely with the Director, the Estimator is responsible for preparing competitive tenders, quotations and Expressions' of Interest, while supporting business development and commercial growth. This is a hands-on role that combines estimating, client engagement and strategic thinking to help win new work and strengthen long-term relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and submit accurate tenders and quotes for large-scale construction projects
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, programme and tender documentation
- Analyse labour, materials, equipment and operational requirements to prepare detailed project estimates
- Prepare Expressions of Interest (EOIs), tender submissions and supporting documentation
- Develop project budgets and Scope of Work documentation to support project delivery
- Obtain, review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identify commercial, operational and contractual risks and contribute to mitigation strategies




- Attend site inspections, pre-tender meetings and client presentations
- Support contract negotiation and finalisation
- Maintain tender registers, reporting, forecasting and sales pipeline information
- Identify new business opportunities and support business development initiatives
- Ensure a smooth commercial handover of awarded projects to the operations team

About You

You're a commercially minded construction qualified who enjoys the challenge of winning work and building lasting client relationships. You combine strong estimating expertise with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to delivering successful commercial outcomes.

You have experience working for a builder or subcontractor within the construction industry and understand the tendering process for major projects. You are organised, analytical and thrive in a fast-paced environment where quality, responsiveness and attention to detail are critical.

Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience in construction estimating
- Strong understanding of estimating principles, tendering processes and commercial contracts
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Proactive, self-motivated and results-oriented
