Operations Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Operations Assistant to join our transport operations team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with transport industry experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being at the centre of daily operations.

You will play a key role in supporting our dispatch function, working closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team to ensure the smooth coordination of jobs, trailers, and fleet movements.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the daily management of the dispatch window
- Communicate with drivers regarding job allocations and operational requirements
- Allocate jobs, trailers, and equipment as directed
- Monitor truck movements and provide operational support throughout the day
- Liaise with customers regarding deliveries and collections
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure efficient fleet utilisation
- Assist with resolving day-to-day operational issues

Skills & Experience





Essential:

- Previous experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and administration skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team setting

Desirable:

- Knowledge of load restraint practices and transport compliance requirements
- Experience with trailer allocation and fleet coordination
- Understanding of transport operations and scheduling
- Experience working with drivers and customers in a transport environment
