Moreton Island Adventures is looking for an experienced General Manager (Marine) to lead our operations and help drive the next stage of our growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines full P&L; accountability and strategic oversight with genuine on-water responsibility as vessel Master.
Reporting to the CEO, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the business - from crew leadership and vessel operations to safety compliance and maintenance oversight - while also playing a key role in identifying and executing new commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Skipper a 52metre ropax vehicular ferry from Port of Brisbane to Tangalooma Wrecks
- Full P&L; ownership, including budgeting, forecasting and financial performance
- Safely operate and navigate the vessel in line with maritime regulations and company procedures
- Lead, manage and develop staff across marine and shore-based operations
- Oversee vessel maintenance, preventative maintenance plans,
and major works including refits and dry dockings
- Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Lead crew training, emergency preparedness, and incident response
- Deliver a high-quality customer experience across all operations
- Provide regular performance and strategic updates to the CEO
About You
Proven leadership experience with strong communication skills and the ability to build a safety-first culture
Calm, decisive approach to managing operational and emergency situations
Robust time management skills, able to balance safety obligations with day-to-day operational demands
Confident and competent operating the MiCat vessel, including emergency situations
Qualifications
- Master > 35m NC, -MED2. -- Mandatory
- Pilot Exemption, Micat specific ( training to be done upon commencement of role )
