Due to their business growth and expansion plans, USVD is now looking to recruit Machinist(s) in their Operations team on a permanent full-time basis. Role: Machinist No.

of positions: Multiple, minimum 02 Reports to: Operations Supervisor Location: Unit 3 78 Heathcote Rd MOOREBANK NSW 2170 Annual offered salary: AUD $82,000 - $88,000 base + Super (for a 38-hour work week)

Purpose of the role: We are seeking an experienced Machinist or may be two to join our operations team on a full-time basis. Set up and operate lathes, CNC, Milling, Grinding, Drilling & Turning machines to produce metal components to the specified tolerances, in accordance with technical drawings and safety requirements as per Australian standards. As a Machinist, your main duties and responsibilities include:

- Interpret engineering and technical drawings, sketches and specifications (including AS 1100/AS 1102 standards) to determine job requirements, tolerances and machining sequences.
- Set up and operate lathes to perform turning operations, producing components to specified tolerances using a full range of lathe accessories.
- Set and adjust computer-controlled (CNC) machines and processes,



resolving technical difficulties.
- Set up and operate milling machines to perform milling operations on components to required tolerances and specifications.
- Set up and operate grinding machines to perform grinding operations and check finished components for conformance to specification.
- Set up and operate general workshop machines (drills, saws, etc.) for basic machining operations in a maintenance or jobbing environment.
- Carry out mechanical cutting and holing operations using a range of cutting equipment.
- Perform precision mechanical measurement, selecting and applying appropriate measuring instruments and interpreting results.
- Perform general engineering measurements using mechanical measuring devices and visual inspection techniques.
- Use hand tools and portable/fixed power tools safely and correctly for a variety of general engineering tasks.
- Use tools and equipment to manually produce components to precise dimensions and finishes on metallic and non-metallic materials.
- Perform routine calculations, including percentages, ratios, proportions and averages, and interpret simple charts/graphs relevant to machining tasks.
- Shut down and isolate machines and equipment safely in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and WHS legislation.
- Carry out manual handling of materials and components in line with Safe

Work Australia guidelines.

- Operate fixed/moveable load-shifting equipment to move and position materials and stock.
- Order and requisition materials,



consumables and tooling as required for production and maintenance tasks.
- Work safely with industrial chemicals, solvents, coolants and materials used in the machining environment.
- Plan and prioritise daily work activities in line with established procedures and WHS policies.
- Organise, record and communicate production, job and maintenance information using workplace systems (including computer-based systems).
- Participate in and contribute to environmentally sustainable work practices in the workshop.
- Work effectively as part of a production/engineering team, contributing to team goals and quality outcomes.
- Assist in providing on-the-job training and guidance to apprentices, trainees or other production staff.
- Interpret technical specifications and equipment manuals to inform machining and maintenance decisions.
- Comply with WHS procedures, quality systems and legislative requirements at all times.

Qualification & Licences:

- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade – Metal Machinist (First class) preferred.
- At least 5 years of proven work experience in the above job role.
- Sound experience as Machinist in Metal fabrication environment.
- Well experienced of WHS requirements, particularly in manufacturing and steel fabrication environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
