Plumbing Maintenance Operations Supervisor
YOUR NEXT MOVE WITH AUSTRALIAN FACILITIES PLUMBING
If you're a skilled plumber ready to take the next step — to lead a crew, look after clients and take ownership of your own patch — this is your opportunity to grow into leadership with a team that will back you every step of the way.
Australian Facilities Plumbing is a leading commercial plumbing contractor delivering maintenance, compliance and remedial services right across New South Wales, for government agencies, hospitals, councils, commercial property managers and major corporates. We're growing, and we're looking for an up-and-coming leader to step into a Plumbing Operations Supervisor role.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This job comes down to three things: mentoring and developing your people, supporting the field techs, and looking after your clients.
You will be responsible for:
Leading your team and building a culture where your team feels valued, accountable and proud of their work
Passing on your critical knowledge and lifting your teams skills and confidence
Supporting new starters settling in and to feel part of the team from day one
Participating in employee reviews
Supporting your field techs by being available to troubleshoot difficult jobs, diagnose faults, etc
Getting out on the site, picking up the tools and working alongside the team when the job calls for it
Removing roadblocks so your team has what they need to do the job safely
Building strong relationships with our clients and identify ways to help clients further
Attending client site walk throughs, internal audits and clients meetings to ensure we are meeting our KPI obligations
Handling requests, questions and the occasional curveball calmly and professionally
Growing the business through the relationships that you build - identify additional works, remedial jobs and new project opportunities
Behind the scenes, you will:
Coordinate daily jobs so reactive and preventative works get done on time.
Lend a hand with scheduling, resourcing and planning the week ahead.
Scope and quote small projects, remedial works and minor maintenance — pricing up the job, then seeing it through to completion.
Stepping in to support after-hours escalation processes with capacity for overtime work
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You don't need to have done all of this before — you need the trade behind you, a genuine care for people, and the drive to lead. We'll help you build the rest. You'll ideally have:
Certificate IV in Plumbing.
A current NSW Plumbing Contractor Licence (or working toward one — a plus, not a deal-breaker).
Solid hands on experience in commercial plumbing maintenance
Current TMV and Backflow Prevention accreditation
Confidence to be on the tools when needed - you can't lead your team from the office
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work autonomously
Valuable working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems
Confidence to scope out and quote small projects and remedial works
You will be tech-savvy and must be comfortable using job management software, mobile apps and digital solutions
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
$50.00-$55.00 / hour + Super | Fully maintained fleet vehicle | Laptop and Mobile Phone | Supportive Team
READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP?
If you're an up-and-coming plumber who loves mentoring a crew, backing your team and building real relationships with clients — help shape the future of commercial plumbing maintenance with Australian Facilities Plumbing.
