Evolution Precast is a leading precast concrete manufacturer working on some of Australia's largest construction and infrastructure projects across QLD, NSW and VIC. We're looking for a Legal & Contracts Manager to join our team on a part time basis.

This role is ideal for a qualified lawyer with construction contracts experience including Tier 1 and Tier 2 head contracts and subcontracts; someone who is looking for genuinely flexible, part-time work. It would suit someone returning from parental/maternity leave, or anyone seeking a meaningful role without full-time hours. Beyond legal capability, we're looking for someone who is genuinely commercially astute, able to see beyond the strict legal position to the commercial outcome that's actually right for the business.

What you'll do:

- Review, draft and assist in the negotiation of contracts, subcontracts and related commercial agreements for major projects
- Support our General Managers across the business during contract negotiations, providing practical, commercially-minded legal input
- Liaise and work alongside our external legal counsel on higher-risk or complex matters to strengthen the company's position when entering large construction contracts
- Advise on risk allocation, indemnities, liquidated damages, security of payment, insurance, and other key contract terms; always weighing legal risk against commercial reality
- Help develop and refine standard contract templates, clauses and playbooks over time,



including subcontracts with our suppliers and subcontractors
- Keep across relevant legislative and industry developments (e.g. Design and Building Practitioners Act, Security of Payment legislation, Australian Consumer Law) as they affect contract risk and our commercial position

About you:

- Admitted lawyer (or equivalent legal qualification) with relevant PQE
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating construction contracts with Tier 1/Tier 2 head contracts and subcontract experience strongly preferred
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of finding pragmatic, business-focused solutions rather than a purely black-letter-law approach
- Comfortable working autonomously and prioritising across multiple concurrent negotiations across our regions
- Excellent stakeholder management skills; confident engaging with senior GMs, clients and external counsel
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing or a related sector highly regarded
