About the role: We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join a high-performing Inorganic Chemistry laboratory. This is a hands-on role focused on sample preparation and trace element analysis using advanced instrumentation. This is a full-time contract (6 months) with strong potential for extension (up to 18 months total).
Duties:
- Prepare environmental, food, and pharmaceutical samples
- Conduct trace element analysis using ICP-MS / ICP-OES
- Operate and perform basic maintenance on lab instruments
- Assist with data analysis and reporting
- Follow strict QA/QC, WHS, and SOP procedures
- Work to deadlines in a fast-paced lab setting
Skills/experience: To be considered, you MUST have:
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory – non-negotiable)
- Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
- Recent hands-on laboratory experience
- Experience with sample preparation for chemical analysis
- Understanding of QA/QC processes in regulated environments
Highly desirable:
- Exposure to ICP-MS / ICP-OES
- Experience in environmental, food, or pharmaceutical labs
- NATA or GMP laboratory experience
