CAVBUS Group Logan Coaches is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing automotive trades team at our Logan Village facility. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our fleet of diesel-powered coaches and commercial vehicles. This role is critical to ensuring our vehicles operate safely, reliably, and efficiently, and directly supports the operational success of our business.

What you'll be doing

- Conducting routine maintenance and servicing of diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise
- Performing repairs to transmission systems, brake systems, suspension components, and other vehicle mechanical systems
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance requirementsMaintaining detailed service records and documentation for all work completed
- Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and industry regulations
- Liaising with fleet management to report on vehicle condition and recommend preventative maintenance schedules
- Operating workshop equipment safely and responsibly

What we're looking for

- A recognised apprenticeship or qualification in diesel mechanics or automotive engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy vehicles or commercial fleets
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, fuel injection systems,



and modern engine management technology
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles as required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Experience with coach or bus fleet maintenance would be highly advantageous
