The role

We are looking for a process operator to join the Harwood production team on the Filter Evaporator Station. This role is responsible for the operation of the evaporator vessels, juice clarifier and mud handling equipment in a food factory producing raw sugar.

The evaporator station equipment incorporates numerous vacuum vessels (evaporators),



numerous pumps of differing designs, a mud handling plant and other sugar cane juice processing equipment.

Full training will be provided.

Reporting to the shift supervisor, the evaporator station operator will:

- prioritise, monitor and control the operation of the evaporators, juice clarifier and mud handling equipment

- maintain the required processing conditions to achieve consistent production of concentrated cane juice

- Meet production targets while upholding protected operating procedures

- operate a range of equipment (vacuum vessels, pumps, processing systems)

This position works on a 4 on 4 off continuous shift roster during the crushing season (mid-June to end of November). During the maintenance season (January - June), work hours revert to day work Monday to Friday 8 hours per day.

We are looking for:

- Previous experience operating process equipment in a food or manufacturing facility

- Mechanical aptitude

- High level reasoning ability and able to make decisions based on judgement and skill

- High level communication skills both written and verbal

- The ability to monitor and control several processes simultaneously

- Experience in the preparation and implementation of risk assessments and actively supporting Work Health & Safety principles

- Initiative and demonstrated ability to learn

- General computer skills, including the use of a computerised operator interface to control process equipment (or ability to learn)

We can offer you

- 5 weeks annual leave

- 25% leave loading (on 4 weeks)

- Overtime available during crushing season (June - December)

- RDO a month

The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment medical including alcohol and drug screening.
