We require a Cook to join our team working across Penrith, Northmead and other venues under Maze Group. This is a full time role (38 hours per week), an immediate start is available.

A remuneration package of $78,000 - $82,000 per annum is on offer to the successful candidate. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while maintaining kitchen efficiency, food safety standards, and customer satisfaction. Key duties include:

- Examining ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability before use
- Preparing ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, seasoning and portioning food before cooking
- Preparing and cooking a range of menu items using appropriate methods, including grilling,



frying, baking, roasting, boiling and steaming
- Regulating the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment
- Seasoning food during preparation and cooking to achieve the required taste and quality
- Following established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards to ensure consistency
- Portioning and plating meals and adding sauces, gravies, garnishes and other accompaniments
- Monitoring food during cooking to ensure it is properly prepared and cooked to the required standard
- Coordinating food preparation and cooking to ensure meals are served efficiently, particularly during busy service periods
- Preparing meals to meet customer dietary requirements, allergies and special requests
- Storing food in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities and ensuring food is correctly labelled, dated and rotated
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations, cooking equipment, utensils and food storage areas
- Complying with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
- Assisting with monitoring food supplies, estimating food requirements and reporting low stock levels
- Receiving deliveries and checking the quantity,



quality and condition of ingredients and supplies
- Minimising food waste through appropriate preparation, portion control and storage practices
- Assisting with the preparation of menus, daily specials and seasonal dishes where required
- Providing guidance and basic training to junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands where required

Requirements:

- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery / Culinary Arts (Certificate III or equivalent)
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a rapid-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Creativity and ability to adapt menus to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
- Attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to high-quality food presentation
