We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Boat Ramp Survey Interviewer to assist with research and monitoring of recreational fishing in the Cairns region. Your role will be to engage with fishermen and the general public at local boat ramps, record catch details, and accurately identify fish species.
About the role:
- Conduct interviews with fishermen at public boat ramps in Cairns
- Record data on fish species caught as part of ongoing research and monitoring
- Work one 4-hour shift per week (Friday, Saturday or Sunday) – 4 shifts per month
What we’re looking for:
- Genuine interest in fishing and marine life
- Strong knowledge of local fish species and confident identification skills
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in approaching members of the public
- Reliability and attention to detail
