Our client PM firm helping to deliver significant structural infrastructure projects, with one of their clients. As part of this program, they're looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the design delivery. Delivered under a two-stage Managing Contractor model, this is a highly visible project within a complex live operational environment.

Your new role

An prospect has become available for an experienced Design Manager to join the project delivery team and take ownership of the design process from development through to construction. Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating the design consultants, Managing Contractor and key stakeholders to ensure the project is fully coordinated, compliant and ready for delivery. You'll lead design reviews, manage technical interfaces across surrounding infrastructure and operational assets, oversee approvals, Safety in Design and quality processes, while ensuring the project delivers value without compromising functionality or future planning requirements.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with both the client and delivery teams, resolving technical issues, managing design change and ensuring the final product can be delivered efficiently within a complex operational precinct.

What you'll need to succeed





- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering projects under Managing Contractor, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) or Design & Construct procurement models.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, technical approvals and design quality assurance.
- Experience working within live operational environments will be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence consultants, contractors and client representatives.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to balance design quality, cost and programme outcomes.
