About the Position

Smith & Co is currently recruiting a range of experienced Civil Machinery Operators for multiple civil construction projects across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast. We are working alongside Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 civil contractors delivering major subdivision, road infrastructure, bulk earthworks, and land development projects throughout South East Queensland.

We are currently seeking:

- Excavator Operators
- Water Cart Operators
- Roller Operators
- Moxy Operators
- Backhoe Operators

Whether you're an experienced GPS Final Trim Operator or looking to further develop your civil operating skills, we have a variety of roles available with immediate starts. These positions offer consistent hours, overtime opportunities, and the chance to secure long-term employment with well-established contractors.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate civil machinery safely and efficiently across active construction sites
- Complete earthworks, roadworks, drainage, trenching, and general civil construction activities
- Work closely with Supervisors, Engineers, and site crews to achieve project milestones
- Carry out daily pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance checks
- Maintain secure work practices and comply with all site safety requirements

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience operating civil machinery within construction environments
- Experience operating one or more of the following: Excavators, Water Carts, Rollers, Moxys, or Backhoes
- GPS machine control experience (Trimble and/or Topcon) highly regarded for Excavator Operators
- Relevant RII machinery tickets applicable to the machinery you operate
- Current White Card
- Reliable, punctual, and available for immediate commencement
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
