Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor: Guide a small, dedicated team of cloud engineers, managing competing deadlines, establishing team priorities, and fostering technical knowledge sharing.
- Architect & Automate: Design, implement, and support robust AWS and Microsoft Azure infrastructure, developing clean Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to drive platform delivery.
- Secure Delivery:
Build and manage highly secure CI/CD pipelines incorporating rigorous compliance controls and embedded security practices.
- Collaborate & Troubleshoot: Partner closely with internal technical teams and business stakeholders to resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues.
- Document & Mitigate: Produce high-quality technical documentation, including architecture artefacts, diagrams, and operational guides while contributing to proactive risk management.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Robust proficiency across core AWS and Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security), alongside practical experience with Azure DevOps, IaC, and GitOps practices.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience operating as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (or in a similar capacity) within complex enterprise or government environments.
- Core Capabilities: Proven leadership capability with the ability to manage delivery timelines, alongside exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical decisions for stakeholders.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must be an Australian Citizen with the capability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government security clearance.
