About the Role

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, configure, test and commission PLC, SCADA, HMI, industrial network and automation systems, working closely with project managers, electrical engineers, designers, drafters and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key responsibilities include:

- Design, develop and implement PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial automation solutions for mining, resources, infrastructure and industrial processing projects.
- Develop control philosophies, functional descriptions, I/O lists, cause and effect matrices, control narratives, network architectures, test procedures and commissioning documentation.
- Configure, program, modify and troubleshoot control systems, operator interfaces, remote I/O, drives, instrumentation interfaces and industrial communications networks.
- Deliver practical solutions across a range of control system platforms. Fraser-Lever is brand agnostic and has completed projects using Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, IFM, ABB, Omron and Phoenix Contact systems and equipment.
- Coordinate control system interfaces with electrical, mechanical, process, instrumentation, communications and vendor package systems.
- Support FAT, SAT, SIT, loop testing, functional testing, commissioning, operational readiness and handover activities.
- Provide technical input into procurement packages, tender clarifications,



vendor evaluations, control system specifications and vendor document reviews.
- Respond to technical queries, RFIs, site issues and design change requests in collaboration with clients, contractors, vendors and internal project teams.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification
- Experience in PLC, SCADA, HMI, industrial automation, instrumentation integration and industrial communications systems
- Practical experience with one or more major control system platforms such as Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, IFM, ABB, Omron or Phoenix Contact
- Ability to develop and review control system documentation including functional descriptions, control philosophies, I/O schedules, network drawings, test procedures and commissioning plans
- Strong troubleshooting, commissioning and site support capability, with a practical approach to resolving control system and integration issues
- Sound understanding of industrial networking, remote I/O, motor control interfaces, drives, instrumentation signals and plant control interfaces
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and teamwork skills
- Mining, minerals processing, materials handling, brownfield upgrade, functional safety or commissioning experience would be highly regarded
