Kedron Wavell Medical Centre stands as a well-established, family-owned healthcare practice that has proudly served the inner northern suburbs of Brisbane for many years. Renowned for delivering exceptional medical care, Kedron Wavell Medical Centre currently presents a unique opening for a dedicated individual to become a valued member of our practice nursing team as a Full Time Registered Nurse.
This specialised role demands a candidate with devotion to upholding the highest standards of nursing support for both patients and our medical professionals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Administering vaccinations and immunisations to paediatric and adult patients
- Health Assessments
- Chronic Condition Management Plans (Care Plans)
- Chronic disease management and providing patient education
- Processing recalls and reminders for patients
- Completing pre-employment medicals and assisting with other occupational health services
- Performing ECGs, Spirometry, and Audiometry and other diagnostic tests
- Cold Chain Management and ordering of vaccines
- Coordinating patient care as required through the DVA CVC Program
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise
- Proactive with excellent attention to detail
- Computer literate and quick to learn new programs
- Flexibility to work occasional evening shifts and rare Saturday mornings as needed
- Passionate about providing high-quality care
- Experience in a general practice
- Knowledge of MBS item numbers
- Experience using Best Practice or similar software
- DVA Coordinated Veteran Care Program knowledge
- Skilled in motivational interviewing
Hours and Availability
38 hours per week over 4-5 days
Primarily weekday shifts with rare Saturday mornings
Remuneration
Remuneration will be based on experience and in alignment with the Nurses Award.
