With the continued growth of our services, we are seeking highly dedicated and passionate Disability Support Workers to join our team located within the Central Coast region, in particular in Charmhaven.
Your commitment to delivering person-centred support to our participants and their families is essential in the role where you will be supporting anywhere between 3 to 5 participants within a shared home. You will bring your industry experience to provide active supported decision making, inclusive practice as well as building and maintaining community connections. We have a number of casual and part time vacancies, seeking those who have availability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster including mornings, afternoons, evenings as well as weekends (overnights included).
Whilst no two days are alike, working within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) service will involve:
- Assisting participants with personal care tasks including showering, toileting, and dressing.
- Preparing and assisting with meal preparation and feeding.
- Administering medication and offering mobility assistance.
- Supporting participants with attendance at appointments and community-based events.
- Offering meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals.
About You
- Genuine desire to provide person-centred care for people with disability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven computer skills.
- Initiative and drive to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility and availability to work a range of shifts over a 24/7 roster.
- Ideally, you will bring a wealth of knowledge and/or experience in a similar role.
- Attain or a willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Checkand Working With Children Check.
- Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
