Hybrid Role - Service Technician & Business Development

Adaptive Air Compressors | Sydney / Wollongong

Adaptive Air Compressors is looking for an experienced compressed air technician to join our team in a dual-purpose role covering the Sydney and Wollongong region. This position is split between hands‑on field service work and business development, making it ideal for someone who knows the industry inside and out and wants a role that also builds their commercial and client‑facing skills.

The Role

This is a combined technical and growth-focused position. You'll split your time between:

Service & Technical Work

- Responding to breakdowns and urgent service callouts

- Assisting with project work, installations, and commissioning

- Diagnosing faults and carrying out preventative maintenance to keep customers running

Business Development

- Growing Adaptive Air Compressors' presence and customer base across Sydney and Wollongong

- Identifying new business opportunities and following up on leads

- Building and maintaining relationships with existing clients, using your technical visits as a chance to spot additional opportunities

- Working closely with the wider team to convert opportunities into ongoing service and project work





What We're Looking For

- Proven experience as a service technician working on air compressors (essential)

- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across a range of compressor types and brands

- Comfortable working independently and responding to urgent breakdowns

- Excellent communication skills - you'll be representing the business directly with customers

- Some exposure to or genuine interest in business development, sales, or account management

- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across the Sydney/Wollongong area

- Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage your own workload across both technical and BD responsibilities
