Cotton Australia is the peak national body representing cotton producers across the country. Based in Sydney, it has built a formidable reputation since 1972 as a leader in policy development and advocacy on behalf of Australian cotton growers.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager leads Cotton Australia’s Policy Team, supports the CEO and Finance Manager in running the organisation, oversees the Cotton to Market Program, and acts as CEO in their absence.

Key responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of Cotton Australia’s policy and advocacy plan, with specific responsibility for water policy

Work with the CEO and Finance Manager on governance, recruitment, grants, contracts and budget management

Manage the Cotton to Market Team’s budget and performance





Contribute as a member of the Senior Management team, including fleet, equipment, recruitment and performance review processes

Prepare policy briefings for the Cotton Australia Board and CEO, and oversee the organisation’s twice-yearly General Meetings

About you

A track record as a senior manager in a member-based organisation, with a strong advocacy focus

Experience in water policy highly regarded

Genuine empathy for Australian agriculture and farmers

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field highly regarded
