About the role

We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher/Director to join our team at Jacaranda Street Community Kindergarten in North Booval, QLD 4304. This is a part-time position functioning as a 5 day fortnight, with allowances for out of service management responsibilities.

That offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives whilst contributing to the leadership and direction of our service. In this role, you will combine hands-on teaching responsibilities with leadership duties, supporting the development of our educational programmes and helping to guide our team's practice. You will work collaboratively with educators, families and the broader community to ensure our kindergarten remains a place where children thrive and learn.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate learning experiences that promote children's development across all developmental domains
- Provide direct care and education to children in the kindergarten,



fostering their independence, confidence and social skills
- Build strong relationships with children and families, communicating regularly about each child's progress, interests and developmental milestones
- Contribute to the development and review of kindergarten policies, programmes and educational practices
- Support and mentor other educators within the service, providing guidance and professional development opportunities where appropriate
- Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment that complies with all regulatory requirements and duty of care obligations
- Collaborate with families and community partners to enhance learning opportunities and support holistic child development
- Contribute to the leadership of the kindergarten, including participation in planning meetings and strategic discussions about service direction
- Document and observe children's learning using various assessment strategies to inform programme planning
- Ensure compliance with early childhood education and care legislation, including the National Quality Standard

What we're looking for

- A qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (such as a Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education)




- Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card) for Queensland
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Demonstrated experience working in early childhood education settings
- Strong knowledge of child development and play-based learning approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Ability to lead and inspire others, with a cooperative and reflective approach to professional practice
- Understanding of and commitment to the National Quality Standard and early childhood education frameworks
- Experience with documentation and observation strategies such as learning stories and portfolios
- Flexibility, reliability and a genuine passion for working with young children
- Preferred: Experience in a leadership or co-ordinator role within an early childhood service
