Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) supports a large network of schools across the Archdiocese of Brisbane, with a mission grounded in Catholic values and a genuine commitment to teaching, challenging and transforming the communities it serves. With Corporate Services playing a critical role in enabling that mission, BCE is now looking to appoint a Manager - Finance Business Partnering to lead financial support and assurance across its schools.
This is an 18-month fixed term contract, and a genuine leadership role at the heart of BCE's Finance Leadership Team, working across a large and complex system of schools to strengthen financial performance, sustainability and governance.
This role suits someone who leads with conviction and clarity, a finance leader who's comfortable navigating change, influencing outcomes and getting buy-in from stakeholders who don't always speak 'finance.'
The role:
- Lead and coach a team of Support Accountants, setting the standard for high-quality financial partnering across BCE schools
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Finance and Corporate Services Executive on school financial performance,
budgets and staffing
- Drive continuous improvement across school financial systems, reporting tools and processes
- Oversee school budgeting, forecasting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Lead BCE's program of internal school financial reviews, translating findings into practical, actionable recommendations
- Provide financial oversight on school capital and infrastructure projects, ensuring value-for-money and alignment to budget
- Build financial capability across schools through coaching, training and hands-on support
About you:
- A robust people leader with genuine coaching and team development experience
- Confident and comfortable leading through change and ambiguity
- Skilled at building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, from school leaders to executive
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent), with a background in financial business partnering, commercial finance or similar
- Confident communicator who can translate financial insight into practical, actionable guidance
