Briar Ridge Vineyard, established in 1972, is a prestigious winery located in the scenic Mount View region of the Hunter Valley. Known for our award-winning wines and Halliday Red Star rating, Briar Ridge blends traditional viticulture with innovative winemaking techniques. Our portfolio spans Hunter classics such as Semillon and Shiraz, as well as limited-release experimental varieties. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Officer to take ownership of our finance function and become a valued member of our close-knit team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. You'll partner with our Cellar Door, Wine Club, Warehouse and Events teams, providing financial support, reporting and insights to help drive informed business decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing day-to-day accounting functions using Xero and Vintrace
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Payroll processing, employee onboarding and payroll compliance
- Bank, credit card, merchant facility and payroll reconciliations
- Preparing monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes
- Working with external accountants on BAS,



taxation and compliance reporting
- Daily reconciliation of sales across POS, website and other sales platforms
- Inventory and stock reconciliation reporting
- Managing Work Health & Safety administration, icare and compliance requirements
- Export administration and financial documentation
- Assisting with audits, reporting and continuous process improvements

About You

You'll be an experienced finance professional who enjoys working independently while also collaborating with a friendly team.

We're looking for someone who has:

- Proven experience in a Senior Accounts Officer, Finance Officer or similar role
- Advanced working knowledge of Xero
- Vintrace experience will be highly regarded
- Strong payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
- Excellent reconciliation and financial reporting skills
- Experience preparing month-end and year-end reports
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- High levels of integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Experience within hospitality, tourism, retail or wine industries will be highly regarded but is not essential.
