The salary range for this role is between $131,108 to $147,858 + 17% superannuation, depending on experience.

The opportunity

This role sits within the University’s Mobile and Portal Development team, responsible for building,enhancingand supporting web and mobile applications used across the University.

You’llwork across the full software development lifecycle, taking business and technical requirements through analysis, solution design, development,testingandimplementation. Alongside delivering new applications and functionality,you’llhelpmaintainand improve an established portfolio of digital platforms, resolving production issues and ensuring solutionsremainreliable,secureand supportable.

As a senior member of the team,you’lllead technical delivery, guide otherdevelopersand help build capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.You’llalso drive improvements to development standards,technologiesand ways ofworking.

Whatyou’lldo

- Analyse requirements and design,



develop,testandmaintainweb and mobile applications,APIsand integrations.
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical,maintainableand supportable software solutions.
- Investigate complex application and production issues,identifyrootcausesand implement effective fixes.
- Contribute to solution design decisions in consultation with developers, business analysts,architectsand other technical specialists.
- Support existing applications through maintenance, optimisation,troubleshootingand production support.
- Participate in estimation, planning, development,testingand implementation activities across the software development lifecycle.
- Produce andmaintainclear technical documentation, including solution designs, programming specifications, testingrecordsand support information.
- Providetechnical advice to stakeholders and colleagues regarding existing applications, emergingrequirementsand development approaches.
- Identifyopportunities to improve application performance, security, codequalityand development practices.
- Share knowledge and contribute to consistent development standards and ways of working across the team.

Whatwe’relooking for

- Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting web and mobile applications.
- Strong hands‑on experience with modern frontend and backend technologies, includingReact, React Native, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Experience implementing caching strategies to improve application performance, including backend caching solutions (e.g.AWSElastiCache) and frontend data-fetching/caching libraries (e.g.React Query).
- Experience with modern frontend styling and design frameworks such asTailwind CSS.
- Experience developing and operating applications within a modern cloud environment, preferablyAWS.
- Experience designing, developing, and consumingRESTful APIs, integrations, and serverless architectures.
- Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases, such asSQL Server,DynamoDB,



or similar technologies.
- Experience withInfrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such asTerraformorAWS CDK.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization solutions using technologies such asOkta,OAuth, or similar identity management platforms.
- Experience building and maintainingCI/CD pipelinesusing tools such asGitHubActions.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including source control, code reviews, debugging, release management, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
