We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Farm Operator to join our compost farming operation. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining equipment and property, and can work independently while following safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate earthmoving machinery, including loaders, excavators, and other farm equipment.
- Receive and distribute feedstocks for composts from businesses within the waste industry.
- Process, move, and manage compost materials.
- Slash grass and maintain paddocks, roadways, and surrounding grounds.
- Carry out general farm maintenance, including repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of machinery and infrastructure.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Have experience operating earthmoving machinery safely and efficiently.
- Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have good problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Hold a current driver's licence (essential).
- Machinery tickets or previous experience in farming, composting, or landscaping will be highly regarded.
