Empowered Recruitment – Sunshine Coast QLD

Major road and transport infrastructure | Sunshine Coast

If you have built your career delivering complex civil projects but are ready to work locally, have greater ownership and a clear next step, this opportunity offers all three.

Based on the Sunshine Coast, you will lead major road and transport infrastructure projects valued from $20 million to $75 million across the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions. The project scale remains substantial, with the stability of a regional pipeline and an established team that retains and supports its people.

The opportunity

This is a senior delivery role with an established civil contractor operating across transport infrastructure and developer works.

You will take ownership of projects from planning through to completion, with accountability for safety, program, commercial performance, risk, client relationships and team leadership.

Working across a mix of office and project sites, you will remain close enough to the work to make informed decisions while giving your delivery team the direction, structure and support they need to perform.

What you will lead

- End-to-end delivery of civil construction projects valued between $20 million and $75 million
- Road and intersection upgrades, interchanges, highway pavement strengthening and developer works
- Project planning, programming, budgeting, forecasting, procurement and resource allocation
- Financial and commercial performance, including cost control, reporting and contract outcomes
- Construction risk, safety, quality, environmental and regulatory compliance
- Client, stakeholder, subcontractor and internal team relationships

- Project teams through clear leadership, accountability and practical decision-making
- Continuous improvement across project systems and delivery methods

What you will bring

You are likely to be an experienced Project Manager from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 civil contractor who understands road construction and can balance commercial discipline with practical site leadership.

You will also bring:

- At least 10 years of post-graduate civil construction experience
- A minimum of five years as a Project Manager delivering projects above $10 million
- A robust background in road and transport infrastructure
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects from planning through to completion
- Proven leadership capability and a strong understanding of construction risk
- Clear communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- RPEQ registration is preferred

What is on offer

- Base salary of approximately $195,000–$240,000, aligned with experience
- Company vehicle or a $19,000 annual vehicle allowance
- A permanent, long-term position based on the Sunshine Coast
- A strong pipeline of major regional infrastructure projects
- An established professional team with a strong employee retention record
- A genuine pathway towards a future Construction Manager position
- The opportunity to influence delivery standards within a growing contractor

Make the move

This role will appeal if you still want the challenge and responsibility of major project delivery, but want to build the next stage of your career from the Sunshine Coast with a company focused on long-term people and project outcomes.
